Night at the Metropolitan Museum

My father is an artist. I am an artist. I love art.

Three very simple statements right? So what do you do when you love art? You go to the museum! When I lived in Albany, NY I would visit the New York State Museum for the 9/11 Exhibit and the contemporary art exhibits quite frequently. I would go to First Friday, I would go to art shows that were part of Women’s Work at the Women’s Building. I found art where ever art existed. Well now I live in New York. Art is everywhere and I am loving every minute of it.

So for those of you who are unaware of my Friday night ritual. Friday night is date night and for this date night I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhatten. It was fantastic. The museum is fun place. People from all over the globe come to this museum to see the work of the French artist Rodin or the contemporary work of sculptor Roxy Paine. The Met is a huge space and we had to keep going back to feed the meter. Now mind you, a lot of people may roll their eyes when they think of the museum but we had a lot of fun for only $5 (the Met and the Museum of Natural history are suggested donation museums so you pay whatever you can afford). To prove our fun I’ve posted some pics, look, enjoy and get going the museum doesn’t close until 9pm!
